Original Control Scheme

New Control Scheme:
Landing Screen

Players have to press button A to start in Nintendo DS, while in a smartphone, it is more suitable to tap the screen to activate the game.

New Control Scheme:
Battle Mode

Since the original control scheme of the battle mode can be functioning with both buttons and a touchable screen, the smartphone-ported version will keep allowing users to tap the options, but in a different layout.

New Control Scheme:
Field Mode

As mentioned all button-activated features have changed to touchable HUD, while the Pokétch remains as a touchable feature, but in a smaller form. Chat, pick up items, pre-selected item will be grey-out when the player is unable to use them, for example, the chat and pick up item buttons are grey-out as the player is not next to a character nor pickable items. Same as the current pre-selected item is an old rod, and it will be available when the player is next to a lake or ocean. The circle button on the bottom right allows players to move the character freely, simply by dragging the grey inner circle.

New Control Scheme:
Inventory

Players can look through the items by scrolling the list, and they can tap on the item to check its function. As mentioned in the last paragraph, a touchable ‘quit’ button has added due to the lack of physical buttons. Other features function in the same way.

New Control Scheme:
PokéDex

Overview: Since there is no physical button on smartphones, all buttons can only be touchable, which the Pokémon list is scrollable.

Specific Pokémon: Similar to the PokéDex overview screen, since there is no physical button on smartphones, the eight category buttons can only be touchable.

New Control Scheme:
Pokémon Team

The six Pokémon placeholder is touchable which players can select a Pokémon to check its details, including the battle moves, height and weight.

New Control Scheme: Wireless Trading

Since there is no physical button on smartphones, the two buttons will be touchable just like all previous screens.
